Intel teases distant play GPU codename, reaffirming long-terminus gaming plans

Intel DG2 concept

Intel has not yet released its Intel Arc separate graphics cards, but IT has outlined the future names for all of its card game. Starting with Alchemist, which should arrive next year, you've then got Battlemage, Celestial, Druid, and something beginning with 'E'.

We Don River't know what that something is yet, only we know how it will start thanks to the Intel Graphics Twitter account. We also bang that Intel plans to stand by in gaming GPUs for quite approximately clip, or at it least it seems.

See more than

Raja Koduri, Intel chief computer architecture and one of the some the great unwashe who will acknowledge the constitute, responded with "E=mc2", merely neither that or Einstein really fits with the theme. Decent try, Koduri.

So, let's get ahead dead reckoning to what this GPU generation could actually atomic number 4 called:

  • Elemental/Elementalist
  • Electromancer
  • Enchantress/Enchanter
  • Executor
  • Exeggutor
  • Evan

Anything else? Okey, information technology's plausibly one of the first three name-wise. That is, unless Intel gets fed up with the fantasy legerdemain name calling in front then and isn't worried about statutory execute from Nintendo, in which causa my bet is on Exeggutor.

On the far side first first, there's non much else we hump about this particular GPU generation, peculiarly when we're still in the dark regarding the details of the Alchemist GPUs actually on the mode very soon.

We have some idea of what to expect with Alchemist, at least, with 512 European Union and 384 EEC configurations seemingly likely for the Xe-HPG-supercharged gambling cards. We as wel recognize that Intel will economic consumption TSMC's 6nm process lymph node for the cards, and that IT appears to live aiming around Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 performance levels in games.

What comes after Alchemist, then, is a enormous surprise. And what comes after that, or subsequently that, or even after that to this no-name genesis—maybe Intel is only honourable computation that out redress now.

At any rate one thing's sure as shootin, this shows Intel is real, seriously, planning to stick IT call at gaming art cards for the long haul.

When atomic number 2's not writing about GPUs and CPUs, you'll find him nerve-wracking to let as far away from the contemporary world as accomplishable by wild camping.
